Solution and Explanation

Step 1: Feature (i): Coordination ensures unity of action:
The aim of coordination is to bring unity of action in working towards a common purpose. In every firm many people do many jobs, and their actions can pull in different directions.
Coordination acts as a binding force between the departments. It makes sure that every action is aimed at the goals of the organisation, so that effort is not wasted.
Unity of action is needed at all levels, from the top to the floor.

Step 2: Feature (ii): Coordination is the responsibility of all managers:
Coordination is not the duty of one special manager. Every manager at every level has to do it.
Top level managers coordinate with their subordinates to carry out policies. Middle level managers coordinate with both top and first line managers. Operational level managers coordinate the work of workers so that it goes according to plan.
So each manager who has people working under him has a share in coordination.

Step 3: Feature (iii): Coordination is a deliberate function:
A manager has to bring the efforts of different people together in a conscious and planned way. It does not happen on its own.
Cooperation without coordination can lead to wasted effort. Coordination without willing cooperation can lead to dissatisfaction among employees.
So the manager must consciously give direction to the willing spirit of people.

Final Answer:
The three features: unity of action (binds departments to one goal), responsibility of all managers (needed at every level), and deliberate function (a conscious effort of the manager).
