A Tarana is a fast-paced vocal composition in Hindustani music that does not use regular lyrics. Instead, it uses rhythmic, non-semantic words like Odana, Tanadere, Tadim, Yalali, Nom and Tom. It is highly popular because it showcases vocal agility, tongue-tripping rhythms, and accurate pitch placement at high speeds (Drut Laya). We will write a standard, beautifully structured Tarana in Raga Bageshri set to the $16$-beat rhythm cycle of Teental (Teen Taal).
