Step 1: Understanding NEAT's User Hierarchy:
To ensure proper internal controls, the NEAT system organizes trading member terminals into a nested three-tier user hierarchy:
• Corporate Manager: The highest administrative authority within a brokerage firm.
• Branch Manager: An intermediate manager who supervises a specific branch office.
• Dealer: A trading professional who enters buy/sell orders on behalf of clients.
Step 2: Delineating System Access Permissions:
• A Dealer has access only to their own workstation, trades, and orders.
• A Branch Manager can monitor, modify, and receive reports for all dealers assigned to their specific branch.
• A Corporate Manager holds administrative rights over the entire firm, including all geographic branches.
Step 3: Identifying the Recipient of EOD Reports:
Since the Corporate Manager (C) is responsible for supervising the entire brokerage firm, the system delivers the end-of-day (EOD) reports for all branches to their terminal.
