• Catchment Area: The physical surface of the roof where rainwater directly falls.
• Conduits: Channels, gutters, and downpipes that collect and carry the run-off.
• First-Flush Device: A valve system used to flush out the initial run-off, which often contains atmospheric dirt, soot, and organic debris.
• Filter Chamber: A sand, gravel, and charcoal bed used to purify the water.
