Concept:
The Blowroom is the department where cotton is opened and cleaned. Traditionally, the output of the Blowroom was a "Lap"—a compressed, rolled-up sheet of cotton that workers had to manually transport to the Carding machine.
Step 1: The Chute Feed Mechanism.
The Chute Feed System is a modern, automated method where opened tufts of cotton are transported through pneumatic pipes (air ducts). These tufts are dropped into a vertical "chute" located at the back of each Carding machine.
Step 2: Advantages of Direct Feeding.
The system allows for the direct feeding of fibres to carding. This provides several benefits:
• It eliminates the manual labor involved in carrying heavy laps.
• It avoids "lap licking" (fibres sticking together) and lap thickness variations.
• It ensures a continuous and highly uniform flow of material, which is essential for high-production carding.
