Concept:
Melt spinning is the most common method for producing synthetic fibers like Polyester and Nylon.
Step 1: Raw Material Preparation.
The polymer chips must first be D (Drying of chips) to remove moisture, which prevents hydrolytic degradation during melting. The dried chips are then sent to an extruder for A (Melting of chips).
Step 2: Filament Formation.
The molten polymer is forced through a spinneret, a process known as C (Extrusion of melt). As the liquid filaments emerge, they are cooled by a flow of cold air, called B (Quenching), to solidify them.
Step 3: Final Collection.
The solidified filaments are gathered and finished before E (Winding on the bobbin) at the take-up unit.
