Concept:
Dyeing can occur at various stages of textile production. The choice of stage affects the cost, color fastness, and the ability of the manufacturer to respond to fashion trends.
Step 1: Match the material form to its respective dyeing method.
• Fabric: One of the most common methods for dyeing fabric in rope form is Winch dyeing. The fabric is circulated through the dye bath in a continuous loop.
• Fibre: Dyeing fibers before they are spun into yarn is called Stock dyeing. This allows for the blending of different colored fibers to create "heather" effects.
• Yarn: When yarn is dyed after being wound onto perforated tubes or springs, it is called Package dyeing. This allows the dye liquor to be pumped through the package.
• Spinning Solution: For synthetic fibers, adding color directly into the liquid polymer before it is extruded through the spinneret is called Dope dyeing (or solution dyeing).
