It has the power to award higher compensation, impose penalties, and pass judgments that have a wider impact.
Apart from these formal redressal agencies, there are also alternative dispute resolution mechanisms available for consumers, such as mediation and arbitration, to resolve disputes without going through the court system. Additionally, consumer protection councils at the district, state, and national levels play a role in consumer awareness, education, and promoting fair trade practices.
