Concept:
The Natyashastra defines four types of Abhinaya (modes of expression) that an actor must master to convey meaning and evoke Rasa.

The traditional and canonical sequence in which these are taught and listed in the text is:
• Aangik: Expression through body parts (gestures, postures).
• Vachik: Expression through speech (dialogue, songs, rhythm).
• Aaharya: Expression through external tools (costumes, makeup, props).
• Satvik: Expression through internal emotional states (tears, trembling, goosebumps).
This sequence (A-B-C-D) represents the journey from the external body to the internal soul of the character.
