Concept:
Seed processing is the preparation of harvested seed for marketing. It involves removing impurities, upgrading the quality, and applying protective treatments. The sequence follows a logic of "general to specific" cleaning.
Step 1: Identify the entry point.
When raw seeds (thrashed material) arrive at the plant, the first step is Seed conditioning (E) (or scalping/reception), which involves initial drying and removal of very large trash.
Step 2: Primary cleaning.
Next is Pre-cleaning (A) (air-screen cleaning), which removes the bulk of weeds, inert matter, and smaller debris based on weight and width.
Step 3: Grading based on dimensions.
After basic cleaning, the seed is upgraded. Size grading (C) (thickness/width) usually precedes Length grading (D) (done using indented cylinders to remove broken seeds).
Step 4: Final step before bagging.
The very last operation in the processing sequence, before the seed is weighed and bagged, is Seed treatment (B), where fungicides or insecticides are applied.
Step 5: Final Sequence.
The correct logical flow is E $\rightarrow$ A $\rightarrow$ C $\rightarrow$ D $\rightarrow$ B.
