Step 1: The can is first filled with the prepared product, giving Can filling (A).
Step 2: The lid is then clinched, loosely attached so steam can still escape, giving Clinching (B).
Step 3: The filled can is exhausted, heated to drive out air from the headspace, giving Exhausting (C).
Step 4: The lid is then permanently double seamed onto the can, giving Seaming (D), followed by Retorting (E) for sterilization and Cooling (F) to stop further cooking.
