Question

Identify the famous US sitcom which dealt with the issue of child abuse, pedophilia and drugs.

• A. Diff'rent Strokes
• B. Taxi
• C. South Park
• D. Cheers

Hint:

Think of the 1980s family sitcom famous for its very special episodes on serious issues.

Answer 1

The Correct Option is A

Step 1: Understanding the question:
A sitcom is a situation comedy. We must find the US sitcom known for serious issues like child abuse, pedophilia and drugs.

Step 2: Check option 1, Diff'rent Strokes:
This 1978 to 1986 show about two Black boys adopted by a rich white man became famous for 'very special episodes'. These dealt with a child predator and with drug abuse. This fits the question, so option 1 is CORRECT.

Step 3: Check option 2, Taxi:
Taxi was a workplace comedy about cab drivers. It touched on personal struggles, but was not known for these issues. Option 2 is wrong.

Step 4: Check option 3, South Park:
South Park is an adult animated comedy known for satire and shock. It is a cartoon series, not the sitcom famous for earnest special episodes on these topics. Option 3 is wrong.

Step 5: Check option 4, Cheers:
Cheers is set in a Boston bar and is about relationships. Option 4 is wrong.

Final Answer:
The sitcom is Diff'rent Strokes, option 1. This answer is chosen by elimination and recall, since the question gives no key. \[ \boxed{\text{Option 1}} \]
