The farthest atmospheric layer from Earth's surface is the exosphere.
Earth's atmosphere is divided into five main layers based on height: troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere. The exosphere is the outermost layer, starting above the thermosphere at roughly 700 to 1000 km and stretching out to about 10,000 km, where it slowly merges into outer space.
The air in the exosphere is extremely thin, made up of scattered particles like hydrogen and helium that barely collide with one another. Many satellites orbit within this layer since it offers very little atmospheric drag.
